Before you import
- One statement for one bank or credit-card account. Reuse the same account nickname each month so QuickBooks keeps a single account and can skip duplicates.
- Review the date range and transaction count on the success card. If a bank feed may already cover the same period, check for duplicates before accepting the batch.
- QuickBooks Desktop: Banking → Bank Feeds → Import Web Connect File. QuickBooks Online: Banking → Upload transactions where Web Connect is supported.
- Downloads stay under Records for 30 days.
Pricing
Free tier includes CSV, Excel, and QuickBooks QBO within the daily and monthly limits. See plans.
Use historical PDF statements when the bank feed stops short
This page is for a specific job: you have an older bank or credit-card statement in PDF, but QuickBooks needs transaction data. Convert one account and statement period at a time, then review the imported date range before adding anything to your books.
What the QBO download contains
- A QuickBooks Web Connect file generated from the transactions the converter could read.
- Stable transaction IDs to reduce accidental duplicates when the same conversion is downloaded again.
- A separate CSV download so you can inspect the extracted rows outside QuickBooks.
Convert first, import second
- Select the QuickBooks account type and enter a short account label and the statement closing balance.
- Upload one supported text-based PDF statement and download the QBO file.
- Use QuickBooks' manual bank-transaction upload, then check the account, date range, and possible duplicates before accepting transactions.
Know the limits before you upload
The converter extracts transactions and creates an import file; it does not categorize, reconcile, or make accounting decisions. Scans, encrypted files, unusual layouts, and unreadable balances may fail. Check the supported documents matrix and read how uploaded statements are handled in Security.
